After looking death in the face, Sara realized that she needed to lose a large amount of weight in order to live. Weighing over 300 pounds, Keenan was struck with pneumonia, which was triggered by taking a narcotic for her back pain. She realized then that in order to continue living, she needed to lose some weight.
After dropping an incredible 170 pounds, Sara searched long and hard to find the right doctor to remove the excess skin that remained. That’s when she found Dr. Quiroz and learned about her options for plastic surgery after weight loss. Now, at age 53 Sara is turning more heads than ever before!

The following success story was sent to us by a patient of Dr. Quiroz who had a Lower Body Lift and Breast Lift with implants at CosMed Clinic in Mexico. She is excited to share part of her journey with you.
Dana’s Story:
Dana, Age 36. Procedures: Lower Body Lift, Breast Lift with Implants. Weight Loss: 190 lbs
“When I was overweight, I only watched others enjoyed themselves and couldn’t participate in any physical activity. Besides that, being diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 30 and suffering from very high blood pressure pushed me to loose the weight. I managed to loose up to 100 lbs alone but gained them back, I knew I could do it, but needed help. That’s when I decided to have Gastric By-pass surgery and I lost 198lbs.
Health-wise I felt much, much better after the surgery but could not say the same for my self-image. I had a tremendous excess of skin all over my body following the weight-loss, and was very conscious of it.
I started to research on the internet about after weight loss surgery and found CosMed and Dr. Quiroz. A friend, and I went to our first consultation, and I was so impressed with CosMed Clinic. As a clinic, the facilities were impeccable, and the staff very helpful and professional, but most importantly, Dr. Quiroz’s willingness to answer any questions and his kind treatment convinced me to have the surgery the next week.
The surgeries I had were a little painful and the extended recoveries were uncomfortable, but when I look at myself today, I feel I would do it all over again.
Dr. Quiroz helped me become a participant in life, instead of an observer. I can rollerblade with my kids, dance, and most of all, to enjoy great health without any medication or worry. I recommend this to anyone who is going through something similar to what I went through that wants to transform their life.”

Weight Loss Surgery Patients turn to Tijuana Cosmetic Surgeon to Transfer the Fat Back

While weight loss patients are successfully seeing pounds shed from a result of lap-band, post-Bariatric and other popular weight loss surgeries, the results of the rapid loss leaves many patients with little to no volume in buttocks area. The lack of volume in this area can be drastic and leave many weight loss patients feeling self-conscious and unhappy about the surgery.
The surgery to add volume back to the buttocks area is not cheap. U.S. Surgeons are charging on average $8,000 (USD) for the procedure which is not covered by medical insurance. As a result, more after weight loss patients are turning to travel tourism options to get the surgery done for a fraction of the cost.

“Brazilian butt lifts have been very popular for women wanting to get a shapelier look like J Lo or Shakira. But now, I am seeing more and more weight loss patients come to the clinic, because they are unhappy with how flat their buttocks have become as a result of a weight loss procedure they had in the States,” explained Dr. Quiroz, a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon who is licensed in both the United States and Mexico.
U.S. and Canadians looking for affordable cosmetic surgery options are traveling to Mexico to request one of the two primary surgeries that can enlarge and lift buttocks.
Brazilian Butt Lift: Fat injections or fat transfer to the butt
CosMed Clinic is a Tijuana plastic surgery clinic that performs a procedure called fat grafting or fat transfer. Fat is removed by liposuction from elsewhere on your body, appropriately prepared and then injected into your buttocks, creating fuller and shapelier buttocks.
